As we learned in last week's episode, Frank's cousin Becky mailed a picture of Frank's birthfather to his sister. It was given to Becky by the brother of Frank's birthmother...all caught up? Good.
My cousin Becky owns, and runs the family business. I called her to see how all this went down. Her customers stop by her office every so often to chat, and one of them is my birthmother's brother. It seems he told my cousin Becky that he was my birthmother's brother, and later returned with a photo of my birthfather. She sent it to my sister, no questions asked. So during our conversation about this she explained that she unknowingly knew my birthfather! He and his wife would stop by to say hello, and she has also talked to my half sister, and half brother! Becky delivers home heating oil to my half sister, and my half brother. She says they sound very nice over the phone, and that my birthfather was also a very nice old man. She recalls him as being short, and very thin. It doesn't stop there.
Becky is sure, her dad, my uncle, knew my birthfather very well, and is going to see him and ask. My uncle is in the stages of early dementia, but would be able to recall the old days. While I already know my parents went to high school with my birthfather, it gets even weirder.
Becky: " OMG, I just remembered that he told me he and his wife lived in the same 2 family house as Aunt Dottie for a few years." Insert record scratch here.
My Aunt Dottie is also one of my Godmothers, and still alive. She unknowingly lived in the same 2 family house as my birthfather from 1959- 1960. That means that both my sister and I went to visit Aunt Dottie during those 2 years, and our birthfather was living in the same house.
At the age of 4, or 5, coming and going from Aunt Dottie's, I might have actually met, or seen my own birthfather! And that includes my half brother who was a year old, and living there too. He is the one that has refused to give me a photo of our father, and stopped all communication after I offered to pay for a full 5 way sibling DNA test. I'm just dying to send him the picture I have of our dad...
